Gallo’s mindset. 25 comments

You have to like this. It’s spring training. Games mean nothing. Stats mean nothing. Performance means nothing. It’s just four worthless weeks of players in your favorite team’s uniforms.

Even so, Joey Gallo got in an umpire’s grill yesterday after a called third strike.

He said it was because, “I feel like I am still fighting for a job.”

You have to like that.

Gallo is one year removed from irrelevance. And he remembers it. And he knows the pain of not being good enough. And he doesn’t want to go back to that place.

You have to like that.
