The results are in and SportsDayDFW.com has them.
According to SportsDay, the Texas Rangers will have a payroll of $149,338,533, good for eighth highest in MLB.
Of course, that could move up a tick if the Rangers pull off the expected trade with Cleveland—who just happens to be in town the next two days—for a starting pitcher, although Texas won’t get a major, meaning expensive, rotation piece that would drive it up that much.
Incidentally, the Rangers will have the eighth-highest payroll and play in the largest TV market without two teams.
Here is story with the breakdown. It’s interesting to discover which Rangers player is making the most money in 2016.
