The off-season quiet produced a few notes about the Ranger on MLBTradeRumors.com.
Here they are:
Colby Lewis, who underwent meniscus surgery after the playoffs, will have a checkup later this week. The Rangers are interested in re-signing Lewis, of course, since he won seventeen games for them in 2015, but are awaiting the results, as are other clubs presumably. A seventeen-game-winner is surely to get some looks.
According to Mark Polishuk at MLB Trade Rumors: “The Rangers have been aggressive in checking out the trade and free agent markets for a pitching upgrade, but T. R. Sullivan notes that the most expensive pitchers (i.e.David Price or Zack Greinke) aren’t being targeted.” The biggest help to the Rangers’ rotation will come from within if Yu Darvish, Martin Perez and Derek Holland are all healthy for an entire season.
